Why Processed Foods are so Bad for You

There are so many reasons processed foods are bad for you and your health. 

 

Have you ever seen a picture of your blood plasma after you’ve eaten a meal from say McDonald’s or Burger King? It’s not pretty. It is very thick and cloudy. Fast foods are loaded with unhealthy oils (roughly a test tube full of oil with a fast food meal), fat, and sodium, and they have little or no nutritional value.

 

And how do you feel after a burger and fries?  Tired.  All that fat will drag you down and make you feel sluggish.

 

Going on a diet isn’t easy, but think about some of the things you do when you go on a diet. You eliminate those high fat, processed, high-sodium foods. You really don’t have to eat less if you include and snack on more raw fruits and vegetables. If you combine this with your diet system and making the effort to drink more water, the results of these changes are increased energy, less need for sleep, and fast weight loss. Processed foods, with their high fat content are hard to digest, and they are ladened with chemicals. It takes an enormous amount of your body’s energy to consume. When your body’s energy isn’t used up digesting all that fat, it’s available for the things that are important to you – for work, play, love, exercise – for your life.

 

You don’t have to make drastic changes in your lifestyle. But take a good look at what you consume without even thinking about it. We reach for the potato chips, or stop at a fast food place primarily because we are starving and want something in a hurry. This fast food move will nix your diet system for the day, so you have to start again.

 

It’s much wiser to have healthy snacks on hand so you don’t have to stop at a fast food place when you’re hungry. If you’re on the road a lot, and get hungry, you can have the right food choices on hand, or you can pick up a bag of something like vegetables or apple slices at a store. It’s easier to stop for fast food, but they price you pay with your diet plan and resulting weight outweighs going the length on your diet plan.
